Akufo Addo’s Ministers Have Turned Soldiers Into Fufu Pounders – Prof Gyampo Blows A Big Whistle

Soldiers turned fufu pounders 1

University of Ghana lecturer, Professor Ransford Yaw Gyampo has claimed that some military officers are being used as ‘fufu-pounders’ in the homes of some civilian appointees.

Gyampo, a political science lecturer at the University of Ghana who is on a crusade against the use and abuse of military uniforms by some people who are considered ‘superior,’ wondered loudly whether or not the military hierarchy was aware of this situation.

In a series of Facebook posts on Monday, Gyampo wrote, ”

He continued: “The attempt to turn soldiers into errand boys of civilian appointees, private citizens, and “small boy magicians” parading as pastors should be a monumental shame to any professional Army Commander.”

He had earlier questioned why a soldier should have an additional duty of carrying the bag of a private legal practitioner to court, referencing a viral photo of a soldier in uniform carrying the bag of Frank Davies, a member of the legal team of President Akufo-Addo to court.

“Defending the territorial integrity of any country does not include body-guarding civilian appointees,” Gyampo stated. “We have no business civilianizing our soldiers. It would come back to haunt us.”

How To Check Your MTN SIM Card Details in Ghana

How To Check Your MTN SIM Card Details in Ghana

After you’ve registered your MTN SIM card with the vendor or the office, double-check that the information you entered is right.

This is critical because if you do not take care of it, it will influence you whenever you visit any of the MTN offices to obtain account details. MTN, for example, would not be able to open your mobile money account if it is closed.

To do so, simply dial *400# from any mobile device, like Android, iPhone, or Yam.

You will then see your FULLNAME (FIRST NAME, LAST NAME), ID TYPE, last four digits of your ID, and your Day and the month of birth.

Additionally, a message with the same information above will be sent to you via SMS.

If the information provided is incorrect, you can update it online here, or you can visit any MTN Ghana office nationwide with the ID you used to register the SIM card.

Final thoughts

In Ghana, registering an MTN SIM card is a very easy and fast operation.

Currently, you are unable to register your MTN SIM card on your own. You can only do so by going to any of MTN’s vendors or offices throughout the country.

MTN SIM cards cost GHS 3.00 in Ghana, and if a vendor wants to sell you one for more than that, you can go to another vendor.

Furthermore, registering your SIM in Ghana is free, so you need not pay anything when setting up your account.

How To Register Your MTN SIM Card By Yourself

When you buy a new MTN SIM card from a reputable Ghanaian retailer, your SIM will be registered for you. However, there will be times when you are unable to register your SIM at that time. If this occurs, you must return home and register the new MTN SIM on your own. As a result, I wrote this article to demonstrate how to register your MTN SIM card in Ghana.

MTN Ghana is one of (if not the) country’s largest and most widely used telecommunications platforms. MTN (formerly Areeba) has been in the Ghanaian telecommunications sector for over two decades (2).

After they rebranded from Areeba to MTN, most Ghanaians were of the view that this business was going to collapse soon. Over two (2) decades on, Ghanaians have now realized that MTN Ghana has gained a market in Ghana and has indeed come to stay for good.

Almost every village in Ghana has now been connected to the MTN Ghana network. Thus, it is no news that MTN is the biggest telecommunication platform in Ghana.

In terms of mobile money, even uneducated Ghanaians from both the rural and urban areas are now active on MTN Mobile Money. In my village alone, somewhere in the Eastern Region of Ghana, there are more than ten (10) MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) operators.

How to Register Your MTN SIM Card in Ghana

Before you can use a SIM card in Ghana, you must first register it with the appropriate network provider. You can’t register your MTN SIM card with Vodafone or vice versa, for example. Otherwise, the SIM card will not function until you have completed your due diligence.

  1. Visit any MTN authorized vendor or office in the country
  2. Give your SIM card to the merchant
  3. Provide the merchant with your ID document
  4. In a few minutes, the merchant will register your SIM card for and get you registered on the MTN Ghana subscriber’s database
  5. Upon successful completion, the merchant will hand over your registered SIM and ID document to you
  6. Afterward, insert the SIM card into your mobile phone and enjoy all the MTN Ghana services.
