A group associated with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Far Left Democrats in the Volta Region has risen up against the suspension of its former Deputy General Secretary, Samuel Koku Anyidoho.
A statement issued by the group led by its Coordinator, Delanyo Agbe vowed to reject any attempt by what it described as “self-seeking individuals in the party to impose Mr Asiedu Nketia on the party as unopposed General Secretary in upcoming National Executive Election.”
They further indicated that the suspension of Mr Anyidoho cannot stand because it contradicts the party’s constitution.
It “wondered how a party which is seeking for justice in the court of law would suspend their members without fair hearing and recourse to the party’s constitution.”
“It is disheartening that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has not learnt anything from their previous crisis which nearly collapsed the main opposition party in the country. The recent suspension of Mr Koku Anyidoho formal Deputy National Secretary is illegal and cannot stand in a court of law.”
“The attempt by self-seeking individuals to impose current National Executive in the upcoming national delegate conference will not only bring set back but, may collapse the former ruling party,” the statement read.
Forget Alan Cash: Ken Agyapong Is The Best Candidate For NPP IN 2024 Elections – Spiritual Grandmaster Boldly Reveals
Spiritualist cum social analyst, Kofi Amoateng, popularly known as OneGod, has challenged the New Patriotic Party, the NPP, to consider appointing a Member of Parliament to Assin Central as its presidential candidate for the next election in 2024, or to forget about retaining power.
One God made this comment in response to a recent statement by the MP calling on his party members to stop the recent campaign of Vice-President Mahamadu Bawumia and Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2024
“I am saying that between Bawumia, Alan and Kennedy, the two are no match for Kennedy Agyapong. If the NPP likes it should face the NDC in 2024 with anyone between Alan and Bawumia and they will lose.
“I am ready to bet with anyone. We know what is happening in the spiritual realm. The NPP will be better off conceding defeat to the NDC if it believes it can continue to stay in power with any of the two,” he stated in an interview with Oman FM as gathered by GhanaCNN.com
You Must Be Very Careful- Nana B Sends A Strong Warning To John Mahama
Former President John Dramani Mahama’s recent behavior, according to the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, is “worrying” and does not reflect his personality as a former President.
This comes after John Mahama’s’refusal to accept’ the Supreme Court’s decision on the 2020 election petition, claiming that the NDC won a majority in parliament but that the Electoral Commission stole some seats for the NPP through dubious means.
“I disagree with the process of the trial and the court’s ruling,” the 2020 NDC flagbearer said after the ruling in a speech.
Despite ‘running’ to the court for clarification after accusing the Electoral Commission of rigging the 2020 presidential election, he claimed the court was biased against him and his legal team.
However, in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show “Ghana Montie,” “Nana B,” as she is known in politics, said the former president is gradually losing his credibility.
He warned host Mac Jerry Osei Agyemang, “He should be careful or Ghanaians will soon lose respect for him.”
“Why is it that he [Mahama] went to the Supreme Court first? He went on to say, “The court gave us a comprehensive judge, and we must all accept it.”
We Will Not Forgive You If Our Party Collapse Because Of You- Angry NDC Youth Warns
The opposition National Democratic Congress’s Functional Executive Committee is urging its members to be cautious in their reactions to recent developments within the party regarding the approval of government ministers.
In a statement dated March 5, 2021, the FEC said it held an emergency meeting to discuss recent developments relating to the work of the NDC caucus in Parliament on the approval of President Akufo-ministerial Addo’s nominees.
Given the rising tensions within the party as a result of reports that some members of its caucus voted for nominees on whom the party had taken a different stance, the FEC has urged party members to exercise caution in order to avoid a deterioration of the situation.
“Whatever the disappointments and disagreements may be, especially among the ranks and files of the party, care should be taken not to allow these to devolve into unnecessary bickering at the expense of party discipline and cohesion,” the statement reads in part.
To that end, the Committee says it has begun a consultation process with the Party’s Council of Elders in order to quickly address the challenges facing the Caucus Leadership and the Backbench as a whole in order to maintain the NDC’s parliamentary caucus’ unity, cohesion, and resilience.
