Mahama Only Wasted Our Time; Elections Are Not Won In Court – Ayikoi Otoo Blasts Mahama

NDC Will Win 2024 Elections But Mahama Will Not Be Their Candidate – EIU

Ghana’s High Commissioner to Canada, Nii Ayikoi Otoo has urged National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer in the 2020 polls, John Dramani Mahama to show more seriousness with his team next time he contests for elections.

According to him elections are won at the polling station and not in court and therefore wondered why the party wasted everybody’s time with their petition in court.

Read His Post On Facebook:

The first time I saw the reliefs the Petitioner was seeking from the court, I opined that the NDC leadership had misled their supporters and therefore called on former President Mahama to apologize to Ghanaians.

How could they have endangered the lives of their supporters calling upon them to protect the ballots because their win was being stolen from them? Then after the counting to say that they had won the Parliamentary by over 140 seats and won the Presidential as well.

They called on their supporters to evade the premises of EC to compel the EC to change the announced results in favour of Mahama; evade the streets of Ghana to demonstrate on a daily basis until the results were reversed; but for the timely intervention of the Police and the court; held several press conferences to inform Ghanaians NDC had won the elections, only to file a Petition after several calls on them to go to Court, to say no candidate got more than 50+ and therefore there must be a re-run of the presidential elections between the NDC and NPP candidates in order to determine the winner.

Upon what figures were they telling their supporters and Ghanaians they had won the elections? Now reading the substance of the Petition,it was clear that the NDC wanted to rely on an error in figures as announced on the 9th December 2020 without acknowledging that on the 10th December the error was corrected because according to them, the correction was by a press release not signed and further that they were not consulted.

Again, in Inspite of boldly declaring that they had Agents in all the several polling stations who signed the Pink Sheets and certified the Regional Summary Sheets, they refused to tell Ghanaians their collated results in the run-up to the hearing and in court, their Star witness said they were not in court to challenge the figures and didn’t have the collated figures or how much valid votes their Candidates got from their own collation. Remember that some including myself, kept challenging them to produce their collated results to counter what the EC had announced because official duty is presumed to have been officially performed, but the NDC would have non of that. I warned that a lawyer is as good as his brief. They played to the gallery and gave passionate press briefings after every court session.

Some of us kept repeating that the Petition was without merit and the Supreme Court has today so declared. In 2013, I was in charge of many of the Parliamentary result challenges mounted by the NPP. Immediately, the Supreme Court decided the Presidential, I advised against proceeding with the Parliamentary ones and filed a notice of discontinuance.

From the allocation of the burden of proof and the fact that in most cases, our polling agents signed the Pink Sheets which act the Supreme Court held was binding on the candidates, I didn’t see how we would succeed if we proceeded. In this case, having affirmed that no candidate obtained more than 50% and therefore bore the burden of proof and persuasion, the NDC refused to assist the Court with any collated figures rather wanting the chairperson of EC to assist them with figures they already had in their possession. Didn’t the NDC candidates sign the Pink Sheets and the Regional and National Summary Sheets and are their acts not binding on the NDC?

Overall, this has been a wasteful exercise and we ought not to follow that path and no longer. Elections are won at the Polling Stations, not in Court. Except where there is abundant evidence don’t go to court. Petition dismissed as without merit!!!!

Are You Aware Of The Ritual Killings In Ghana: You Have Made Ghana Hard – NDC Blast Akufo Addo In A Press Statement

In a statement, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) expressed condolences to the family of the ten-year-old boy who was killed by two teenagers at Kasoa for “money ritual purposes.”

The statement urged President Akufo-Addo to expedite investigations into unsolved crimes committed in the country since he assumed power.

Read the full statement below:

PRESS STATEMENT BY THE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS ON THE MURDER OF YOUNG ISHMAEL MENSAH ABDALLAH AT KASOA.

It is with extreme shock and disbelief that the National Democratic Congress received news of the gruesome murder of a ten-year-old boy called Ishmael Mensah Abdallah at Kasoa in the Central Region by his own teenaged acquaintances for ritual purposes.

The Leadership, as well as the entire rank and file of the NDC, join the family and friends and, indeed, the entire nation, in mourning the loss of this young and promising boy much beloved by his family and community.

It is the expectation of the National Democratic Congress that the appropriate authorities will ensure that the bereaved family are comforted by the swiftness of the application of the law to punish the perpetrators and all who may be behind this dastardly murder.

The NDC has taken due notice of the fact that there appears to be a fashionable craze toward the acquisition of quick wealth by many of our countrymen and women and the youth in particular, without the attendant hard, morally sound and lawful means of obtaining the same.

We deem this development as a dangerous trend that has to be condemned and discouraged by all and sundry.

It is a development that the NDC is unquestionably opposed to, or else we risk bequeathing to the youth, a practice and a lifestyle that cannot build this nation.

We further wish to draw the attention of the Akufo-Addo government to the plethora of crimes whose resolution has dragged on interminably, thus, encouraging the perpetuation of the culture of impunity.

We encourage the youth to look out for honest, hardworking, and accomplished persons as their role models.

The wealth that has been improperly obtained, should never be an attraction for the upcoming youth of this great nation.

In this regard, we call on the Akufo-Addo government to speed up investigations and crank the wheels of justice so that the country can rid itself of the odious reminder of this unfortunate event.

May the soul of young Ishmael Mensah Abdallah rest in peace.

Fire In NPP Over Ethnically Charged Campaign For Akufo Addo Successor

Fire In NPP Over Ethnically Charged Campaign For Akufo Addo Successor

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been caught in a tumultuous in-fighting along tribal lines as sections of the party, led by the NPP Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu is pushing for a Northerner to lead the party in the 2024 Presidential race.

Last week, Kyei Mensah-Bonsu in an interview with Joy News claim there was a sort of convention in the party that they cannot field an Akan for the third time to lead the party, after John Agyekum Kufour-an Ashanti and President Akufo Addo, an Akyem.

“…I think it may not hold well for a party that is accused by some as being overly Akanistic party [to field another Akan],” Mensah-Bonsu said in what clearly exposed his alignment with speculated plans by President Akufo Addo to select his own replacement by fielding his current deputy, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

But, former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, who is reportedly lacing his boots to bid for the NPP presidential ticket, described Kyei Mensah Bonsu’s statement as nonsensical and “foolish” talk.

“…we are fooling. Why are we disturbing the party? For me, normally, I will not mention names, but I am disappointed with the Majority Leader. Are you [Majority Leader] the one to bring this noise to the party? Agyarko told pro-NPP Oman FM.

Meanwhile, an activist of the ruling party, I. K. Boahen, has pooh-poohed the cult playing psychological mind games to project Dr. Bawumia as the bonafide next in line to President Akufo Addo.

In the write-up Mr. Boahen challenges claims that the NPP gained a lot of votes in the 2020 elections from the Northern parts of Ghana because Bawumia is from the Region, pointing out that the analysis rather showed that the party’s fielding of well-resourced appointees did the trick.

“Most of the seats we won from the Northern sector and currently being occupied by NPP were contested by highly recognized government position holders; people who were at the presidency, were holding CEO positions, were deputy CEOs and or were holding highly influential government positions…So are we saying that but not Bawumia factor, these people didn’t use their positions in any way to help their constituents hence their win to become MP?” Boahene questioned.

“Please let’s think about the above well before we conclude that, Bawumia factor won NPP Northern votes. Let’s critically analyse, before we conclude, otherwise, some will also conclude that, the margin of the high vote in the Ashanti Region is not appreciated by the party, and this is dangerous!!!” he wrote.

Proponents of a Bawumia flagbearership in 2024 have advanced many reasons, including the claim that it would deodorize the NPP’s notorious image as an Akan party.

Others have claimed that so far the baton of the party’s leadership has been juggled around the backgrounds of two out of three founding philosophers of the NPP tradition – Busia and Danquah – and that it is now the turn of the third founding philosopher – Dombo.

As Dombo was a Northerner, Bawumia has been promoted as a representative of the lineage of Dombo. However, I.K. Asante pooh-poohs this. “DMB (Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia) is not a true descendant of Dombo is a fact, which is not debatable because that line and tag can’t be used as an arsenal if the real history is unraveled. Factually, it’s not a reality but just a tag.”

Doom Hangs Around Nana Akufo Addo -As Woman Invokes Death Curses On Him

Barely days after the controversial preacher, Nigel Gasie prophesied to the effect that Akufo-Addo will die before the end of his second term, a video has emerged of a woman cursing the President of Ghana to death at a voodoo shrine.

The woman who has since been identified as Attaa Magali is also captured in the video invoking Akufo-Addo’s name with incantations while stabbing him together with others at the shrine over his meddlesomeness in the Okuapeman chieftaincy disagreement.

“…It is me Attaa sister to Kwasi Akufo who is being denied the Okuapehene stool. I am the one putting this photo into the coffin. Anyone who is part of this grand scheme from the family must be killed and summoned to the wilderness to answer,” the woman is heard invoking in a part of the video.

The video which is believed to have been leaked from the shrine of Togbe Shitor, a fetish Priest who plies his Spiritism in Akyem Kukurantumi of the Eastern Region, captures Attaa Magali at a point stripping naked to curse Akufo-Addo and others.

One of the people who was cursed along with the President was the late Victor Newman, Director of Research at the Presidency. As Mr. Newman had died suddenly in December 2020, many are fearing that he probably was cut short by the curse of Ataa Magali.

Other names she mentioned as targets of her curse include one Sammy Mfum, Nana Ofei and the Akuapem Baamuhene.

The woman is brother to Kwasi Akuffo, a claimant to the Okuapeman stool.

It would be recalled that since 2017, there has been dispute over whose turn it is to ascend the stool which is also called the Ofori Kuma Stool.

The Akropong stool has three ruling houses – Nketia, Amogyaa, and Sakyibea. whose turn was in season to produce the next chief after the death of Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwah III, Okuapemhene who reigned for 41 years .

However, while Odehye Kwasi Akuffo was nominated by the Queen mother -Nana Afua Nketia Obuo for installation, the Abrewatia (sapient granny) of the Sakyeabea Royal family , Lillian Nana Agyemang, also nominated Odehye Kwadwo Kese for the same stool.

The Abrewatia subsequently petitioned the Regional House Chiefs challenging the traditional capacity of the Paramount Queen mother in nominating and installing Odehye Kwasi Akuffo to ascend the stool.

The Judicial Committee of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs on Thursday, April 30, 2020, nullified the nomination of Odehye Kwasi Akuffo.

In an April 30, 2020, judgment, the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs upheld that selection of a legible royal to be enstooled as Paramount Chief is the prerogative of the Abrewatia of the ruling family whose turn it is to select a candidate and submit the name of the chosen royal to Asonahene to be sent to the Queen mother.

The House upheld that the Queen-mother failed to provide evidence that the right traditional procedures were followed before initiating processes to install Odehye Kwasi Akuffo as Okuapemhene.

It stated that the Queen mother alone cannot select a candidate from the Royal Family without the involvement of the Abrewatia, adding that, the involvement of the Abrewatia and the elderly female is an aged-custom.

Odehye Kwadwo Kese was subsequently enstooled and outdoored on Sunday, May 3, 2020 with the stool name Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo II.

Late last year, the faction against which the ruling was made had gone to court and as part of its case alleged that President Akufo-Addo had attempted to bribe him with money so that he would stand down his claim to the throne.

Allegedly, the bribe had been passed through former Chieftaincy Affairs Minister, Kofi Dzamesi. And allegedly, all of this was part of the Akufo-Addo Jubilee House’ machination to ensure that the rightful heir to the throne is not installed.

Reportedly, it is in response of the alleged devious injustice that Kwasi Akuffo’s sister went to Togbe Shitor’s shrine to curse Akufo-Addo and his alleged collaborators with death.

“Those who have tied our souls in the middle of the Akropong so that we don’t get the support of the subjects must be dealt with -Sammy Mfum, Nana Ofei, Baamuhene, Victor Newman, President Akufo Addo are all included. Nananom deal with them and also protect our family. Now, I bath this concoction to cancel any death on our family and send it back to them”, Attaa Magali chanted.

In another part of the video, the fetish priest is seen directing Attaa Magali to inform his brother, Odehye Kwasi Akuffo not to eat any food prepared with palm oil. He also instructs her to warn Odehye Kwesi Akufo not to get closer or sit on the stool because a god was going to sit on it for a while to work and therefore anyone who sat on the stool would die.

After undressing, a naked Attaa Magali is made to open the entrance to another shrine. She is then directed to bath in a liquid concoction in a locally weaved basket and chant for goodwill upon her brother Odehye Kwasi Akuffo but wish evil for his opponents including President Akufo Addo.

The videos come just days after Prophet Nigel Gaizie is seen in another video prophesying that Vice President Bawumia will replace Akufo-Addo before the end of the President’s second term.
