OnePlus 9R India Launch Confirmed for March 23, to Bring ‘Robust Flagship Experience’

OnePlus 9R will launch in India alongside the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro on March 23, OnePlus Co-Founder and CEO Pete Lau confirmed in a media interview. The smartphone was initially rumoured as the OnePlus 9 Lite and later speculation was that it would be called the OnePlus 9E. Lau said that the OnePlus 9R will bring a “robust flagship experience at a more accessible price point.” Despite being more affordable than the other two OnePlus 9-series phones, the OnePlus 9R is expected to have a high screen refresh rate and 5G support.

The OnePlus 9R will feature “smooth scrolling, immersive gaming controls, and a superior viewing experience” to bring a flagship-like experience, Lau said in an interview with News18. Although the executive didn’t provide any clear details about the pricing part, he did suggest that the new phone would come under the mid-range price segment. It is also described as a “premium-tier device” in the company’s 2021 portfolio.

Lau said that the plan with the OnePlus 9R is to “go even further” than the company did with the OnePlus Nord last year, in terms of bringing out “a balanced handset with the latest technology and class-leading industrial design”. The smartphone appears to be targeted at mobile gamers. However, it isn’t likely to have advancements such as dedicated game controls, support for accessories to enhance your gameplay experience, or top-notch hardware. You’ll get all this on a traditional gaming phone, such as the recently launched Asus ROG Phone 5.

The OnePlus 9R, which was rumoured as OnePlus 9 Lite and OnePlus 9E earlier, is speculated to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC and a 90Hz display. The phone is also likely to come with multiple rear cameras.

Lau’s comments confirmed that the OnePlus 9R will debut in India alongside the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. However, it is still unclear whether the affordable model will be exclusive to India or also be available in other parts of the globe. Gadgets 360 has reached out to OnePlus to get clarity on that front and will update this space when the company responds.

In addition to the OnePlus 9R, Lau suggested plans to bring new smart home products to the Indian market. He, however, didn’t provide any specific timelines for their launch.

Mount The Witness Box And Clear Doubts Of Many Ghanaians – Suhuyini Boldly Tells Jean Mensah

The Electoral Commission (EC) has finally spoken up on the verdict of the Supreme Court concerning the 2020 election petition.

The seven-member Supreme Court panel ruled unanimously that while the petitioner (John Dramani Mahama) had legitimate concerns about the results he could not adduce evidence to validate the claims he was making against the EC.

Speaking on Asaase FM, Bossman Asare, deputy chairman of the EC said the court vindicated the work of the commission with their ruling.

“We were relieved right after the election because we know we did the right thing. The [Supreme] Court gave us an international vindication, so for us life is just normal; we have a lot of things, review of the election et cetera that we must engage in,” he said.

“As a Commission, we are doing what we have to do. There are a lot of administrative measures that must be put in place so that in future we’ll continue to be ahead of the game. I think for us we didn’t see the court case as a challenge… we know it’s part of the work and life must go on,” he said.

Are You Aware Of The Ritual Killings In Ghana: You Have Made Ghana Hard – NDC Blast Akufo Addo In A Press Statement

In a statement, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) expressed condolences to the family of the ten-year-old boy who was killed by two teenagers at Kasoa for “money ritual purposes.”

The statement urged President Akufo-Addo to expedite investigations into unsolved crimes committed in the country since he assumed power.

PRESS STATEMENT BY THE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS ON THE MURDER OF YOUNG ISHMAEL MENSAH ABDALLAH AT KASOA.

It is with extreme shock and disbelief that the National Democratic Congress received news of the gruesome murder of a ten-year-old boy called Ishmael Mensah Abdallah at Kasoa in the Central Region by his own teenaged acquaintances for ritual purposes.

The Leadership, as well as the entire rank and file of the NDC, join the family and friends and, indeed, the entire nation, in mourning the loss of this young and promising boy much beloved by his family and community.

It is the expectation of the National Democratic Congress that the appropriate authorities will ensure that the bereaved family are comforted by the swiftness of the application of the law to punish the perpetrators and all who may be behind this dastardly murder.

The NDC has taken due notice of the fact that there appears to be a fashionable craze toward the acquisition of quick wealth by many of our countrymen and women and the youth in particular, without the attendant hard, morally sound and lawful means of obtaining the same.

We deem this development as a dangerous trend that has to be condemned and discouraged by all and sundry.

It is a development that the NDC is unquestionably opposed to, or else we risk bequeathing to the youth, a practice and a lifestyle that cannot build this nation.

We further wish to draw the attention of the Akufo-Addo government to the plethora of crimes whose resolution has dragged on interminably, thus, encouraging the perpetuation of the culture of impunity.

We encourage the youth to look out for honest, hardworking, and accomplished persons as their role models.

The wealth that has been improperly obtained, should never be an attraction for the upcoming youth of this great nation.

In this regard, we call on the Akufo-Addo government to speed up investigations and crank the wheels of justice so that the country can rid itself of the odious reminder of this unfortunate event.

May the soul of young Ishmael Mensah Abdallah rest in peace.
