Black Stars Will Win Their Two Matches Against Ethiopia and South Africa - Coach Milovan Rajevac

Ghana To Battle South Africa For 2022 World Cup Ticket

Ghana will have to battle South Africa for Group G’s only ticket to the final phase of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers after the two sides secured vital wins on Tuesday.

The victories mean that the group’s sole slot is a straight fight between the Black Stars and Bafana Bafana as the two sides separated themselves from the group’s other two teams.

The result also meant that Ethiopia and Zimbabwe have no chance of advancing from the group which means the Group G clashes will be decided in the final day in the match between Ghana and South Africa.

Bafana Bafana significantly enhanced their chances of reaching the next stage of 2022 Fifa World Cup qualification with the hard-fought victory of 1-0 against Ethiopia in the FNB Stadium on Tuesday night.

In the wake of this vital win achieved by a first-half own goal scored by Ethiopian striker and skipper Getaneh Kebede, South Africa is still the top team in Group G by accumulating 10 points after three consecutive wins, and one draw.

In this qualifying process Bafana have scored five goals while conceding only one. Their fate is in their own hands for the remaining games with Zimbabwe in their home stadium and Ghana away in the next month.

Bafana have a one-point lead against second placed Ghana who got a close 1-0 win over Zimbabwe’s Warriors of Zimbabwe in the second match of the group on Tuesday in Harare leaving this group with a wide-open.

Zimbabwe and Ethiopia were eliminated from qualifying which leaves Ghana as well as Bafana to compete for the top position which will be rewarded with a spot in the final phase of qualifying along together with the remaining groups of nine winners.

In the two qualifying matches the head coach Hugo Broos will know better than any other coach that they’ll be required to take no chance of beating Zimbabwe at home, and then traveling into West Africa to get a favorable outcome against Ghana.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac also knows that he must not drop points in the final two matches against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa next month before they host Bafana Bafana.

The Phobians scored a goal in each half. Ibrahim Salifu scored the first with his head then Agyenim Boateng secured victory with a superb inside-the-box strike.

Although it is a good advantage for Hearts, they would be disappointed not to score the vital third as their opponents played the last 17 minutes with 10 men.
