Kumasi-based Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC persevered their unbeaten record in the Ghana Premier League with a resilient performance to earn a point against Karela United in Ayinase.

Karela dominated possession but a combination of good defending and impressive goalkeeping by Razak Abalora ensured that Kotoko left the CAM Park unscathed.

The Porcupine Warriors have recorded four wins and one draw, as a result, they remain in first position, while Karela are 11th with six points.

Accra Hearts of Oak will take a two-lead to Algeria after beating JS Saoura 2-0 in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs tie on Sunday.

The Phobians scored a goal in each half. Ibrahim Salifu scored the first with his head then Agyenim Boateng secured victory with a superb inside-the-box strike.

Although it is a good advantage for Hearts, they would be disappointed not to score the vital third as their opponents played the last 17 minutes with 10 men.
