Government Finally Pays Professional Teachers Allowance To Teachers

The government of Ghana has finally paid the 2021 academic year Continuous Professional Development Teachers Allowance known popular as CPD to teachers.

The allowance package that was introduced last year under the current President Akufo-Addo led government was paid yesterday November 22, 2021.

Teachers’ professional allowance was again introduced last year to enable Teachers to organize professional learning community PLC and also to attend professional workshops to enable them to acquire professional skills in the teaching fraternity will be paid by September or October ending 2021.

The payment that is meant for both teaching and non-teaching staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) is meant for enhancing the quality of teaching and learning and also developing the staff of the service.

Meanwhile, the amount of Ghc1,200 that was expected from the government to teachers was reduced since TM1 laptops were ben deducted from the said amount.

Teachers are expected to receive their cash when banks commence payment of salaries latest by the close of the working week.

In thia era of the COVID-19 pandemic where each country’s economy has declined to make the living conditions of the citizens extremely cumbersome, it would be extremely difficult to have your money back should you lose it.

Many people are in difficult times making their lives unbearable. Therefore, about 98% of people who may find money on the streets will embezzle it rather than return it to the rightful owners.

However, the case of Madina Adutwumwaa Asare, also known as Teacher Ewuraama, who is committed to making sure that children love school is different.

Teacher Ewuraama of Diamond Academy in Atimatim Maase of Old Tafo Municipal in the Ashanti Region has done what the Lord expects everyone to do. The scriptures tell all Christians not to possesse what does not belong to them.

Teacher Ewuraama in a video available to GhanaCNN via her Charity works found a bag (Ghana must go) containing $1000 in an envelope but returned it to the rightful owner.

 

Accordingly, she will not spend money or own something that does not belongs to her.

Madina Adutwumwaa Asare is known for her creative way of welcoming her pupils to school every morning. She been impacting the lives of her pupils in her own special way.

Last year, she raised over GH¢4500 to pay the fees for the children because their parents lost their jobs to the COVID-19 pandemic.

JUST IN: Teachers of Colleges of Education Declare Indefinite Strike

The Colleges of Education Teachers’ Association of Ghana (CETAG) has declared an indefinite nationwide strike over service conditions.

The decision was arrived at after an emergency meeting by the CETAG National Council over the failure of the government to implement the conditions of service agreed upon between 2017 and 2020.

In effect, all 46 public colleges of education are to embark on the strike beginning tomorrow, Thursday, January 6, 2022.

CETAG says, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 24, 2021, after reaching agreements on conditions of service for members of the association.

“The association’s National Council has resolved to follow through with its decision to withdraw teaching, one of its main duties as stipulated in the harmonized conditions for Colleges of Education”, a statement from CETAG noted.

It added that “the National Council would like to use this opportunity to entreat all CETAG members to comply with this directive until further notice.”

The students in the short video intercepted by GhanaCNN.com are said to be a couple sitting on a bench facing each other.

It appears as if they had everything planned out ahead of time.

Things went wrong, however, when the girl began kissing on the wrong note.
