Asante Kotoko Crowned 2021/22 Ghana Premier League Title

Asante Kotoko have won the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title with 3 games to spare.

The Porcupine secured the title this afternoon after picking a point in Obuasi against regional rivals Ashanti Gold.

With 4 games to the end of season, Asante Kotoko needed just one point to secure the title and they got it today in a 1-1 draw at Obuasi.

The record Ghana Premier League holders had no competition from the first round of the league till now.

They literally had a one horse race as the Porcupine Warriors were overly superior to their usual challengers Hearts of Oaks.

With 3 games to end the season, Asante Kotoko have 60 points with 2nd placed Bechem United having 50 points.

Even in the unlikeliest situation when Asante Kotoko loses all 3 games and Bechem United wins all their games, they will be on 59 points, still not enough to leapfrog Asante Kotoko.
