Stop Using God To Advance Your Political Interest – Lydia Forson Slams Akufo-Addo Over National Cathedral
Still, on the issue of the National Cathedral, Lydia Forson calls out the government for ” using God to advance our own personal interest” and “playing on the sentiments of people’s religiosity.”
Many have gone up in arms against the building of the National Cathedral. As hardships keep plaguing the country, suggestions redirect the millions of dollars into priority and struggling areas of the economy have choked the internet.
One of its fiercest campaigners against the National Cathedral, Lydia Forson, has shared her opinion as a daughter of an Anglican clergyman.
“Worshiping God comes with wisdom. Let us not treat God like he. God is in all of us. God is everywhere. What you’ve been using God for is not right because we use God to politicize the issue and take advantage of people,” she lamented to ZionFelix.
For Lydia Forson, the basis of Christianity is undermined if the government goes ahead with its plan to fulfil the promise the president made to God.
“I know Christianity is not about proving to God that this is his house. What is the house of God if there are no people in it? I mean, we have churches all around us. But look at our attitudes in this country. If it was up to the church, Ghana would have been sorted.
“It’s not about the house. It’s about the people. It’s about humanity. It’s about how we are treating each other. Let us stop using God to advance our own personal interests. We are playing on the sentiments of people’s religiosity. It’s not right. That’s not Christianity, and that’s not God.”

Ghanaians Have Not Been Fair To Joyce Blessing – George Quaye

June 22, 2022Ghanaians Have Not Been Fair To Joyce Blessing – George Quaye
Media personality George Quaye has stated that Ghanaians have not been fair to Gospel artiste Joyce Blessing.
While speaking in an interview, he said;
“Look, our sister has gone through a lot and I think we all have not been fair to her. Okay, let me say George Quaye, as a person, has not been fair to her. I’ve never picked up the phone to reach out to her and ask how she’s doing.
“We all know what is going on in the media about you, ABC, but be strong. Everything will be okay. We are praying for you. A little encouragement is all you need, a little support. However, I’m asking, who has done that? Who has reached out to her?”
George Quaye opined that the average Ghanaian does not take psychological health seriously.
“What she’s gone through may be eating her up. In this country, we joke about psychological issues. Elsewhere, things have driven people to suicide. Luckily for us, we are not like that. Maybe because of our upbringing and the challenges we go through as children.
“But our sister is going through a lot. It’s not child’s play. It’s not easy. In such a scandal and your ex-husband is in the picture, muddying the situation. You are being discussed in the media on social media. She is suffering a lot. So if we can pray for her, let’s do it and help her. This is not the time to talk about her brand,” George Quaye concluded.

June 21, 2022JUST IN: Sonnie Badu Finally Speaks About Being Paid $50,000 For Performance At National Cathedral Fundraiser Event; Drops Wild Revelation -WATCH
Sonnie Badu has broken silence on the 50,000 dollars he reportedly charged for a ‘brief’ musical performance during the launch of the National Cathedral fundraising campaign held in the United States in February 2019.
The Ghanaian musician has denied taking a dime from organizers.
According to Sonnie who responded to the claim in a tweet, he never demanded payment for his service. He again highlighted the poor reception at the fundraising event where none of his team, including himself, was offered a seat.
“Wow, thanks for alerting me. I was not given a dime …not even a seat for me and my team. We stood outside,” read his response to a Twitter user who wanted clarification on the amount he took for his musical performance.
Reacting to the singer’s statement, the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram and a member of the National Democratic Congress, Sam Nartey George, called out the Nana Addo administration and the National Cathedral Board for fund misappropriation and embezzlement.
“They claimed to have paid SONNIE BADU $50,000 for a song ministration at the launch in the US. Now he has come out to say he was not given a dime and not even a seat was offered to him and his team. So who took the $50,000? Surely the Trustees do NOT know about this! Again, they claimed to have paid GHS30,000 to each of the gospel artistes who ministered at the launch here in Accra. Can those artistes also confirm if they received these monies?” parts of Sam George’s Facebook read.
The fundraiser for the construction of the National Cathedral project was held at the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC back in 2019. The event was attended by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other dignitaries.
